Your Child’s Bright Future Starts with Healthy Eyes! As parents, we stay on top of checkups for our kids—pediatrician visits, dental cleanings, and even their first haircut. But what about their vision? Good eyesight plays a huge role in learning and development, yet many vision problems can go unnoticed in children.
The big question is: when should you schedule that first eye exam, and how often should your child’s eyes be checked? Let’s break it down so you can keep their little eyes healthy and their world crystal clear.
Babies (6–12 months):
First eye exam to catch early issues
Toddlers & Preschoolers (3–5 years):
Second exam to monitor vision development
School-Age Kids (6–18 years):
Every year once they begin school to
update current prescription and
monitor for changes as they grow!

Things to watch for
• Squinting or headaches
•Trouble with reading
• Eye rubbing or drifting eyes
